Landscape in Motion

Some HD video for my series, Landscape in Motion. Took me forever to figure out the correct way to process it for HD output, but I'm happy with the results, they should look real nice full-screen.
This is a scene from a little lake north of Lake Mary in Flagstaff. Make sure the volume is up.

Here's what's making all the racket. The western chorus frog. Impressive vocals

Skunked

Did some fishing at Ashurst Lake, just east of Flagstaff today.  I brought my camera to document the record pike I was going to catch.  Here's what I ended up with...

I will call it: "The OutCast"

Landscape in Motion: South Kaibab Trail

This is part one of a series of video's I'm calling: Landscape in Motion.  Kinda cheesy, I know, but the idea is to utilize the HD video capabilities of my digital SLR.  I compose the images the same way I would a still photograph, but instead of taking a single image, I record the scene.   Once I've built up more videos, I will make a tab with all of them at the top of my homepage.   Here are some scenes from Grand Canyons South Kaibab Trail.  I'm still new to the video editing and output processing, so it's not in HD yet.  Enjoy

Grand Falls

Went to Grand Falls on the Rez yesterday.  Took some pics.  Here's a few.
The falls are almost 200 feet high, the largest in Arizona.
The muddy water of the Little Colorado River is snowmelt from the White Mountains.
Grand Falls carves out the very start of the Little Colorado Gorge, a tributary canyon to Grand Canyon.

Leanna's Prom

Here's some portraits I did over the weekend.  It was my little sisters senior prom, and we had a quick photo shoot at the parents house beforehand.  Though it was a bit rushed, we did manage some good shots.

And a couple portraits of Leanna and Koa...

Fossil Springs

Made it down to fossil springs for a night this past weekend.  The weather was beautiful, the trees and wildflowers were starting to bloom, and the water-as it is year round-was a refreshing 72 degrees.  As always, some photos...

The water is crystal clear and blue-green from travertine deposits, which form natural dams, making some great swimming holes

Slaying some trout on the Colorado River

This past weekend, a few buddies and I hiked down to the Colorado River through Soap Creek Canyon to spend the night and do some fishing.  Here are some pics of the trip.  Check out the entire trip log at:
Austin caught a chuckwalla, who was not too happy about it

Cool rock (mahogany chert???)
We had to shimmy along a little ledge 20ft high.
